Uber leaves Nigeria and Uganda

Uber has pulled out of Nigeria and Uganda. Could the same pressures eventually push it out of Jamaica?

Uber ended 12 years of operations in Nigeria and also shut down in Uganda. The company said the decision followed a review of its business, but didn’t give a specific reason.

However, Nigeria’s ride-hailing market has been squeezed by rising fuel costs, inflation, currency volatility and competition from other apps...

Here are five budgeting mistakes that can make your plan fall apart.

One: using the salary on paper instead of what actually reaches your account.

Two: forgetting the expenses that don’t come every month. Car insurance still counts.

Three: making a budget so strict there’s no room for anything you enjoy. How long are you really going to stick to that?

Four: guessing what you spend. Check the receipts and your transactions. The numbers might surprise you.

And five: never checking the budget again after you make it. Your plan needs a check-in.
